I'm in research mode. I've been looking at the Janome CP1000 and the Babylock Coverstitch machines. This would be my last machine purchase and long overdue.
I know some of you have a coverstitch machine. I'm curious to know which manufacturer and model you have. Can you please share your coverstitch machine experience with me?
Thanks! :)

I hvae a CP900 and LOVE it. There wasn't TOO many differences between the 900 and the 1000 IMO and the price really helped me decide.
It is SO easy to thread and use and I truly love it!
I have the Viking Huskylock 936. It's a serger/coverstitch combo. I love it. Yes, it does take 2-3 minutes to convert back and forth but I like having one machine with two functions.
Confession: because I am such a novice, I had to look up what exactly a Coverstitch machine is. However, in my searching, I did find this handy comparison chart which you might like:

I'm still not sure I really get it. Are the coverstitch functions that some of the sergers include only so-so?
I have the Babylock Evolve Wave - serger/coverstitch combo. It takes very little time to convert and works great!
I have a Huskylock 936 serger/coverstitch machine but I never would use the coverstitch (I LOVE it as just a serger). For me it was too inconvenient to convert and I could never get the stitch right. I know many people don't have this problem at all. I bought a Babylock coverstitch last year and I LOVE it. I use it all the time. Every time I use it my husband has to hear how much I love that machine. It is so easy to use and stitches great.
I have the CP1000. I LOVE it. I have only had it 4 months and am still gaining confidence in using it, but everything I have sewn with it, has worked out great. It is very easy to thread. You can use it with 1,2 or 3 needles. Makes a wonderful stretch seam for construction seams and the hems look RTW.
Susan, my Janome CP1000 is still on layaway--$70 away from taking it home. Wish I could comment on it but don't have it in my possession yet.
I have the CoverPro 900 and the Babylock Evolve. I love both machines but I like having a coverstitch machine separate from my serger. Yes, my Evolve will do a coverstitch with some adjustments. I love the CoverPro 900 for coverstitching.
